70cm uhf conversion to 2m


hi all i have a uhf 6db stick for uhf cb and want to know how to convert it for 2m vhf or 70cm amatuer bands if anyone has some info on this it would be appreciated

My experience with this is that the simple wire UHF CB antennas work quite well as is for both 70cm and 2m. If you go here http://www.mobileone.com.au/antennas/default477.htm and click on UHF CB 5/16" on the left, at the bottom of the page is the type that I am talking about.

They are a bit long, but you should be able to trim then with a good pair of pliers. At the top of the page mentioned above there is a "how to tune" button. Click on that for general info on tuning by trimming.

Anyway, it would be worth using your antenna as-is with an SWR meter to see if it needs any adjustment at all. You may find, as I did with the wire one that it is quite acceptable without any adjustment.
