I have an amplifier site put together for me compliments of Tony King W4ZT. Google VK3ZL.GS35b.com I am generally constructing at least one amplifer most of the time.I have started using Russian triodes recently.I have found the GS-35b very robust and an easy tube to work with.I designed the last amplifier to run the tube around half it's capability.I doubt I will wear it out too soon. These tubes are readily available on ebay for around AU$160 including postage. The tube has a removable copper anode cooler. You can purchase spare tubes without the cooler for around AU$125. I have started playing with GI-7B(T) triodes. These are a 350 watt Anode dissapation. Many hams overseas are retro fitting old amplifiers such as Heathkit,Dentron,Drake etc with these tubes in place of the 572B's.These tubes cost as little as US$24 a pair on ebay. They are robust and have a frequency range to 2gig.There are a few pictures on the above website for this new project.A pair of GI-7B(T) for 80/40/20 meters.I will add more pics as construction proceeds. I hope these notes are ofhttp://www.sparkimg.com/emoticons/smile.gif http://www.sparkimg.com/emoticons/smile.gif interest to the home brewer and anybody looking to restore that old linear. Cheerio.....Bob VK3ZL..
