HI I AM LOOKING AT MOUNTING A DIPOLE THE LENGHT OF MY HOUSE, THE WHOLE DIPOLE WILL BE 4 METERS ABOVE THE TIN ROOF WILL THIS BE A PROBLEM, i HOPE SOMEONE MAY HAVE AN ANSWER FOR ME, IM LOOKING AT THE OCF DIPOLE. I DID TRY A VERTICLE COMMET CHA250 AND DID NOT THINK MUCH OF IT. THANKS IN ADVANCE
There is an aussie site that produces OCF kits at what seems to be a reasonable price:

The alternative to an OCF is of course the G5RV. They are available commmercially as well - if you dont want to build your own, for instance:

Both require 30+ m of yard for installatiion. I have no personal experience of either, but am thinking of building a G5RV. The ladder line for the feeder is available from:
The G5RV is really easy to make and works well as long as you can let the open wire section drop vertically from the antenna...okay you can bend it around a little.
I just used TV ribbon bought from Bunnings (yep - somebody still makes it and somebody still stocks it) and cut suitable holes in the plastic form along the length.
Works quite well for me at a height of about 9m...but I have a tile roof and one large tree in the neighbour's yard.
Experimenting and building is what it's all about and this antenna gives you the freedom to do both, and at a reasonable price.
