I'm getting my thoughts together with regard to ATV and how I can use it in my shack. There is a local 2m atv repeater, and a small group of atv hams who populate it on wednesday evenings.
So, I have the radio gear, but as a mac user - yeah yeah I know - there is not the software about to receive and decode the drm encoding that they use. In addition there are some other bits of software that are PC only that I wouldnt mind using, so I'm thinking about getting a secondhand PC.
Do I need to go as far as getting an XP capable machine, or will a win98/win2000 machine be sufficient. Are there any "must have" apps out there that require XP?
Perhaps I should add that I'm not ms-phobic, I just prefer OS X and Linux to windows.
